As venerated as the first two Blade movies are, the character is worthy of a more full-dimensional treatment than he's received thus far

How much more dimensionality does the Blade character need?

In the first installment, we met his mother in flashback giving birth to him, and in a subsequent, heart-rending scene. We saw his emotional connection to Whistler. We also understood his internal conflict, and his battle to choose one side of his nature and fight to keep the other side at bay.

In the 2nd, we saw him continue/extend that emotional connection to Whistler, as well as being quite willing to not only work with the enemy, but actually see the person beyond the type at a level closer to love, which is a difficult aspect in his line of work.

Of course, I dismiss Blade: Trinity. Everything after the opening scene was a travesty.

So, do tell, what else is there to develop about him?

Quite a lot The film series barely scratched the surface of the character. For all of it's flaws, The TV Series that ran for one season on the now defunct Spiked network fleshed Blade out a lot more than the movies did

Fair enough. Let's see what they do.
