Several years after the events of Django Unchained, Django meets Don Diego de la Vega, the famed Zorro, and agrees to become his bodyguard on a mission to free the local indigenous population from slavery.

昆汀·塔伦蒂诺在开发一部讲姜戈和佐罗组队的电影，他和知名喜剧人Jerrod Carmichael一起写剧本。故事改编自斜线漫《Django/Zorro》，这部漫画也是昆汀写作，当时是当做《被解救的姜戈》的续集做的。剧情发生在电影时间的数年后，姜戈仍然是个赏金猎人，把妻子Broomhilda安顿在芝加哥附近之后，他再次上路，遇上了著名的侠盗佐罗，并被他吸引。此后姜戈成了佐罗的“保镖”，跟他一起要把当地人从被奴役的命运中解救出来。
