I feel Will stuck faithfully to the original spirit of the song that they sampled it from--Patrice Rushen's "Forget Me Nots" (also used in Penny Marshall's movie Big), which I've always dug for its combination of mellow and funky vibes... Oh man, the way the bass guitarist's just thump-thump-thumpin' that bass in Rushen's jam gets a brotha movin'!

I've never heard it, mainly because I've never seen the film. (have no wish to).

I'm the same way, lol. I am a modest fan of Patrice Rushen's music.

I had to google her. I've heard some of her stuff (80's) but she doesn't stand out (IMHO).

One of my greatest pleasures of R&B music is Patrice’s keyboard solo in her song “Remind Me.” (At least I think it’s her playing it.) Each time I hear the solo, I feel that it somehow exemplifies the feminine spirit.

I've never been a fan of Smith's music. He was like the Partridge family version or The Monkees of hip-hop. Manufactured, homogenized garbage with as much artistic value as a forged Monet. I will admit, that I thought his Summertime jam was alright.

He showed some grit on the "You saw my blinker" song
