Item: Escort in love
Language: en-US
Type of Problem: Incorrect_content
Extra Details: I notice with Movies, when entering the country Certification you are forced to add the Release Date.
Why are these two items linked? What if you don't know when an older movie was released for the first time in our country, but just want to add the certification? Is it ok to just put in a random date fairly close to the other listed release dates?

Thank you very much.
Very interesting this problem.
Can you tell us what is the Country and the Certification?
Work in Progress
TIP: If you want to force the line break, click Space 2 times and then click Enter. Just Space > Space > Enter.

The movie is... https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/59570-nessuno-mi-pu-giudicare and I added the Australian certification of "M". Adding the Release date so you can add the certification is not the way it is done for TV Shows.
Obviously not confined to this movie, but all movies. It is easier with new releases as I can just see when they begin playing at the cinema, but older movies or straight to tv movies may have played previously on TV and there is no way possible to check this, short of sending requests to all broadcasters for information which seems to be a bit ludicrous.
I'll have to admit that there are 4 or 5 movies where I have fudged the date just so I can add the correct classification, but I thought it best to check if something could be done to make this step easier and accurate.
Thanks

You would have to ask Travis... but one big advantage is it allow us to add the release date of many versions with their own certifications.
Why not add a known release date? For example, one of the top Google result is a review of the film at an Australian film festival:
https://www.sbs.com.au/movies/article/2011/09/06/2011-italian-film-festival-preview
https://web.archive.org/web/20110925211916/http://www.italianfilmfestival.com.au/films/escortinlove/
https://web.archive.org/web/20111011144647/http://italianfilmfestival.com.au/media/iff2011fullprogramme.pdf
If you really can't find a good release date, please at least add them as e.g. 2011-01-01 to let other users know it's a bad release date.

Sure, but those type of search results wont be available for all movies. That is a bit more high profile, being a foreign film in an English speaking country, so it gets a bit of traction with the fringe groups.
For eg this movie that I did a couple of months ago... https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/97434-gambit
But I did leave a note the date was guessed... https://ibb.co/QjMykx3
Next time Travis hops onto our Kodi slack channel I will ask him.
Thanks Banana
ps, why can't I ping you with @banana_girl when i try it always defaults back to banana_girl

@KarellenX Also fixed. Do you remember the other ones?
I changed my display name to "Banana" a while back, but never bothered to ask Travis to change my username (banana_girl).

Where did you find the date for Gambit?
Thanks :)
