I just adore this movie. I know a lot of movies reflect the morals of the current society. When Gil finds out Inez has had sex with Paul, her reaction is to tell him to get over it. Really? Is this the norm these days, or am I just being old fashioned. Having sex with someone other than your partner is no big deal apparently.

Even though it is a big deal the stigma associated with being unfaithful is not as harsh as in the US. Truth be told, I think I'd react the same way. It was done, it was over, no need to make a big drama out of a mistake.

It's not about stigma, it's about your partner, fiance or whoever cheating on you. I find that a huge deal.

It is a huge deal but after the deed is done, there are multiple ways on which to handle the situation. If I was sure I was not going to repeat it then I'd prefer not to tell. The same if it was my partner. Why ruin a relationship by a single mistake?

Actually Gil and Inez weren't suited for each other anyway IMO... She was so pushy and irritating, the marriage wouldn't have lasted. In saying that Inez wasn't the least bit remorseful in what she did..

I was frustrated by this movie. There was charm in some of the 'past' sequences - although Allen set himself easy targets by including the most obvious 'names' of the era - but I found the modern day sequences close to unbearable. McAdams, generally a pleasant if unremarkable actress, was pretty much intolerable in this - admittedly largely due to her unpleasant and badly-written character.
I have no idea why this was Woody's biggest success in so many years, I'd place it solidly in the lower middle rankings of his work.
