Off the cuff, it's not like Andrei's films (of the ones I've seen) are the most warmly engaging in cinema or anything.

Haha - yes, that quote made me raise an eyebrow. Brilliant filmmaker and Solaris is a great, great movie, but it's awfully chilly on that space station of his. At least 2001 has flashes of humour.
