The video tag is not only intended for compilations; you can read the guidelines for the video tag here and here.

When trying to add it to Letterboxd, it says that compilations can’t be added. Any guidance as to what to change for the site to stop considering it a compilation?

Letterboxd chooses to not import anything that is tagged as a video -- that is why you are getting that message from Letterboxd. The video tag on this is correct per the guidelines, so nothing is going to change here.
