This is better than the current rating (57%) would suggest, but is nonetheless a pretty conventional horror in a lot of ways. Couple of questions though:
1) At one stage Michelle says she'd still be an 'accomplice to murder' if they got caught out. Given that (as far as they know) he was killed unintentionally, and in a reactionary fist fight, I find it hard to believe that it would be considered murder, more likely manslaughter, and if it's manslaughter, they can't be accomplice to it, since it was unintentional by definition, so any lawyers/ criminologists know what they actually would be culpable of? Obstruction of justice? Conspiring to pervert the course of justice?
2) In the credits, any ideas why the psycho killer is dubbed 'Old Charlie'? Is it suggesting that he's the kind of psycho that young, serial philanderer and eager to coverup a murder Charlie might one day become...?
First hour or so very predictable, then final 20 minutes a pretty straight up slasher vibe. Felt they implied a twist when they 'revealed' behind the mask and had the moment with the dog, but then just left us hanging. A bit disappointing. Solid 6/10.
