Btw was expecting something completely different instead some poetic extremely slow paced pretentious movie, even if I ignore the fact of three race family, that was just too much (my kids are mixed if you wanna call me racist), only thing missing was for their girl turn out to be lesbian or trans.
Bicentennial man or Her look next to this like action blockbusters and I'd recommend target rewatching these instead of wasting time with this pretentious mediocrity.
Rated it 6/10 and I feel being very generous.

6/10 is right for me as well, but I didn't find it was as slow as you did. Granted, it was a bit pretentious as you say, and I agree that having this multiracial family was a bit much. But I thought Colin Farrell did a good carrying the film.
As for what are the clones exactly...what do you mean? Seemed to me they were thrown in as a source of prejudice for Colin Farrell's character. I mean, he couldn't be racist so why not...clone-ist??

well we know androids are there to help adopted kids (is adoption from China still a thing? sounds unrealistic, especially in future) or for other purposes and they are produced, but there is no background about clones, whether you order clone of specific person or there are just some freely publically available clones of random people, in both cases it sounds odd since the clone girl seemed to be unaware she is clone of her grandma AFAIK

Surely only this couple used the android as a "brother" for their adopted kid, I highly doubt they were all made for that purpose. It sounded like there were multiple companies which produced these androids so it would be very limiting if they were produced just to help adopted kids. Also I thought adopting from China wasn't unrealistic at all, especially as it was a girl. That part I could understand.
I get what you're saying about the background of clones but I don't think that was the point of the story; it was meant to show the things that make us human on an emotional level, regardless who (or what) you are. But to address your question, it's hard to say how they were "ordered" but not sure if there needs to be a genetic connection to the "buyer" as the neighbour had clone daughters but they looked nothing like him.
