Discuss Jaws: The Revenge

I never understood why the shark exploded after being impaled. Should have stuck with the original cut with the impressive Impalement. Plus Jake is dead which is a huge plus imo.

It was a terrible movie either way, but a roaring shark!?!? And yes, with Jake dead the kill ratio went up to just 3 iirc

@The_Loner I agree. The shark slowly sinking after being impaled by the boat's broken mast was much better than the exploding ending. Jake always annoyed me. @bluersun I agree this movie was just bad. It was fun to watch the unmatted full frame version where you could clearly see the shark's mechanics.

I'd like to see that for a laugh :)

I want to know what compelled them to do such a thing. I also want to know what compelled them after seeing the revised ending to release that mess. They can't have seen the exploding ending because I refuse to believe anyone would say that worked.

I remember seeing this turkey in theaters with the original ending and then later renting it on video only to find that the ending somehow got even worse. Made no sense at all.

The Netflix version shows the original ending. The shark slowly sinks to the bottom with the ship's mast through it's throat and Jake doesn't survive.
