Reread the book then re watched the movie. Always wondered why Brody didn't arrest Quint for using illegal bait. [In the book it was unborn baby dolphins.] In the movie it was implied he was using cut up whales. Then it dawned on me. If Brody arrested Quint there wouldn't be anyone to catch/kill the shark. Agree or disagree.
