I had no idea until recently that Veronica Cartwright, who I know from Alien, was the girl from The Birds. I thought she was good in this movie even as a young girl.

Never saw "Alien," but knew Veronica Cartwright as Lumpy Rutherford's little sister on "Leave It to Beaver," and as Jack's mother on "Will & Grace," but otherwise as Mitch's "Birds" little sister and as Angela's real-life little sister, right?

I really like Veronica Cartwright as an actress, very underrated. As well as The Birds and Alien, her two iconic films, she is hilarious in The Witches of Eastwick and has a very memorable final scene in the 1978 remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers.
Also of note is her very early appearance in The Children's Hour, five years before she worked with Hitchcock.

Don't forget her role as Cassandra Spender on The X-Files. The new season started tonight on Fox.

Yes, she had a super role on The X-Files. I haven't seen any of the more recent episodes - are they worth it? It seems strange returning to a show I haven't followed for so many years, but I am tempted.

The first episode was odd though, I read a few comments online and people are not happy. What was the last season you watched? Have you seen the 10th season (6 episodes) that aired in January & February of 2016? Or was season 9 the last one you saw (ended in 2001)?

I haven't watched since 2001, end of the original run. I'm not sure I've even seen a single repeat episode since then, and never got around to the second movie (I was impressed with the first one, and reviews for the second were much worse).
