It wasn't incest. They weren't related.

I didn't know that when I first saw the movie, though, and it tainted any possible enjoyment I could've got out of the movie. It's a shame they didn't make that fact a little bit clearer. I blinked and I missed it.

Aren't they cousins?

Oh, gross. They were. That'll teach me to do my own research and not just regurgitate what I've been told. Thanks for correcting me. Gross, gross, gross. ;)

Not really they were kids trapped on an island and were raised together. All they knew was one was a girl and one was a boy who were both attractive.

Also weren't they second or even third cousins. Look what happened when they tried celebrating Christmas. They couldn't remember any words to songs or traditions. All they knew was what they learned as kids and that's it.

Regardless of not being blood brothers, they were foster brothers. They grew up as brothers, it doesn't convince me either.
