How does this guy get cast as a lead in a feature with a budget?

What budget? It looks like it was made with green shield stamps (for those of you who remember them!) Zach Avery is a weak and expressionless actor - but he wasn't alone - none of the cast were particularly good and the movie itself was weak - unexciting and predictable with a plot you could write on a postage stamp. Very very poor.
