The previous discussion refers to the individual episodes being labeled as separate movies. My issue is that 'The Animatrix' collection as a whole is being listed as 1 movie, when it's actually a tv show with 9 episodes. In order for Plex Meta Manager to work correctly and add The Animatrix to the proper collections, it needs to be labeled as a tv show. If we can't change this animatrix entry from a movie to a tv show, can a tv show variant be created in parallel?

This entry is correct. It is for the compilation DVD that include all the shorts.
It was only released as a TV series later as you can read on the Wikipedia page. Here, we only list the original release. Consequently, the TV series can't be listed.
