Discuss The Old Guard

Is the part where the new black chick gains her immortality powers and her military comrades immediately ostracize her. Now I'm not from the US, but when I did my military service it was like being in a frat house, and from what I've understood it's quite similar in the US, where you have your room mates pulling pranks on you etc. So I have a very hard time believing her comrades would immediately shun her because of her newfound skills. If anything she would be the most popular chick in the whole barracks and it would probably take only a few seconds before somebody had an idea :"Hey....let's shoot her out of a cannon and see what happens!". This would of course be followed by them setting up their own youtube channel called "Jackass 2020" with memorable videos like :" What happens when you swallow a live TNT stick" and "Woman vs. tank - who wins".

And yes, that was the most unbelievable part about the movie.

I admit that I did not expect that The Old Guard watchfull, being an action film, would have the wisdom to include not only a love story, but a well-developed love story. In one of the most moving scenes in the film Joe expresses his feelings for his lover and partner, Nicky. It is difficult to do justice to his words. Also to the chemistry of Kenzari and Marinelli.

I don't know if I would call it well-developed. The dialogue in the van was very good, yes. But there's not a lot of development in of itself, you get a bit of exposition to have it set up and that is about it.
