Discuss Everything Everywhere All at Once

Got a de ja vu feeling and it was like that thing with the movie "Parasite" (2019) a few years back that got praised to high heaven and in my opinion was vastly overrated. However with this one it is even worse. At least "Parasite" was mostly watchable and getting through it wasn't too much of a chore. Not the case with "Everything Everywhere All at Once". Had high hopes and had anticipated the chance to see the movie, but good grief it was just utterly tedious and watching it felt like a huge chore and I must've started the movie at least 10 times before I finally got through it because it was so uninteresting. It doesn't really get any better and after you've watched the first couple of minutes you've seen the gist of it i.e. the random scenes the movie keeps throwing in your face for 2+ hours.

I gave it 30- 40 minutes. It was boring.

What for a junk movie.

I completely agree, it was difficult to watch it until the end.

I completely fell out of it and i dont remember a single thing about "Everything".. I love movies, but this was just way to much to comprehend.. Overrated rubbish. Cate Blanchet was snuffed for her amazing performance in Tár.. That movie had me captivated, and i have little clue about classical music. But it is not so much about it either.

So I shouldn't watch it?

Make your own decision on whether or not to watch it. Ignore the naysayers here.

bratface have you seen it and do you recommend it? I've seen your posts praising some of the classic "boring" films I enjoy so your taste might be up my alley.

tbh the fact that Everything won a ton of Oscars put a damper on my expectations because I generally don't go for crowd pleasers. But the fact that people are slamming it in this thread makes me wonder if it's actually good (i.e. not a crowd pleaser).

I said for them to make up their own mind mainly because the majority of the people slamming it aren't regulars & the others, at times, don't like anything. I haven't had a chance to see it yet but I will as soon as it comes to a streamer I subscribe to. I agree that winning a ton of Oscars doesn't guarantee that, in my opinion, is a great movie. But I have eclectic tastes, I love some 'crowd pleasers' & some that aren't. There are some I just can't stand:

Musicals (not all)

Westerns (except Tombstone)

War movies

Slasher movies

IAWL (sentimental claptrap)
