Item: Is It Just Me?

Language: en-US

Type of Problem: Bad_image

Extra Details: Please remove this image backdrop uploaded by Morris. It looks like 4 promo stills in one image.

EDIT: Not sure, but maybe this and this image backdrops uploaded by raistlin3 should be removed. (I'm not sure) but it looks to me like these image may have lost the original color/tone of the original images from which they were edited (cropped) from. This and this is what those images look like (from Cinema175, one of the movie's production companies, flickr account, and from the movie's page on pro-fun media, the movie's German distributer).

(Additionally, I've added this and this better versions that have retained the color/tone of those original images).

EDIT x2: I think this English image psoter uploaded by GaelAugusto should be removed. It appears to be distorted (squished).

How come this image backdrop I uploaded was removed? Or was that a mistake?

This is the original image. It is from the movie's German distributer's website.

The image is an official image and is high quality.

Was it because it was deemed a duplicate of this image? I do not think it is a duplicate of that image because: a) it is a zoomed in version, b) it is different in color/tone.

I have the same concern over this image backdrop I uploaded being removed.

I do not think it should have been removed for the same reasons as above. Here is the original image.

EDIT: Also, this image backdrop I uploaded was removed. The image is high quality, is different in color/tone and is not even the same still (it is a still from the same scene but the actors are not in the same position). Here is the original image. I understad not wanting multiple images of the same scene (like the contribution bible discourages), but theres was only 2 and they are both good quality.

I guess the only reason I can come up with these images being removed despite being some if not all of the following: a) high quality, b) official images, c) not duplicates due to differences in tone/color, d) not duplicates due to differences in cropping (i.e. zoomed in version), e) not duplicates due to actors being in different positions, is that tmdb doesn't want too many images (though, I'm not sure how 13 images is too much) and so similar-ish images are removed. I'm just curious because for the time I've been contributing, images always get kept (for both posters and backdrops) if they are high quality and meet some of the things, b) to e), even if they are somewhat similar. Has there been a change in the rules or attitudes/thoughts for images in the db amongst the moderators that I am not aware of?

EDIT: Btw, I have no problem joy with the images being removed. I just want an accurate understanding of TMDB's guidelines/perspectives on images on the db, so that I can contribute to the db in the best way possible thumbsup_tone3 (For example, all this time I've been adding images even though they're exactly the same, with the exception of a slight change in color/tone (presumably editing choices) because they are both from the official sites of two different official distributers of a movie- if I'm not supposed to do this, then that would be helpful to know- and also mean I might go back through the entries I've contributed to and report all those as duplicates).

Hi, it wasn't me who deleted the images you are asking about, but in general they were all not quite good enough for the size they were added. We have to remember that official stills are usually not published in their original size. They may appear as a 1600 x 900 image on a website or a regular sized image in a newspaper. This mean that you often have to make official stills smaller, or at least be prepared to check that the final image you are adding looks good enough. Thanks.

Done!

I have reuploaded this deleted backdrop after downscaling to smaller sizes here and here.

(tho I find it hard to believe they were deleted for being low quality for their size because to me, they all appear equal in image quality to the similar versions kept; all of which were 3840 pxls by 2610 pxls- the same size as the deleted backdrops)
