Yasmin has lived an almost normal life as a German ever since she was three years old. The family fled from Somalia during the civil war and now lives scattered around the globe. When Yasmin's grandmother no longer wants to stay in her Ethiopian exile, a transnational family drama evolves, circling around the essential question: Where is Granny to live? La guerre civile qui ravage la Somalie depuis plus de vingt-cinq ans a forcé d’innombrables familles à fuir leur pays. Imra, la doyenne de 80 ans, s’est réfugiée en Éthiopie voisine, pays qu’elle va devoir bientôt quitter. Quant à Shash, son fils aîné, autrefois célèbre capitaine de l’équipe nationale de foot, il compte désormais parmi les nombreux réfugiés du quartier Tannenbusch de Bonn. À l’aide de sa fille Yasmin, il tente de faire venir sa mère en Allemagne, mais se heurte à de nombreux obstacles, tant administratifs que familiaux.

Tras la guerra civil en Somalia, la familia Shaash se encuentra dispersa por todo el mundo. Yasmin se ha criado en Alemania y siente que ahí es donde tiene su hogar.
