I liked the last one a lot - felt to me that it was in fact a carriage to the afterlife:
It wouldn't stop under any circumstances
the Driver was faceless
No-one took their baggage off the top of the carriage ("cant take it with you")
The self styled reapers delighted in describing their watching they dying trying to make sense of it all (whilst watching three souls not making sense of it all)
Ascending into light at the hotel
If it was then the trapper was right - everyone is the same. Trapper, philanderer, god fearing wife... death comes for us all regardless.
If you think about it that calls back to the first story nicely to round things off.
Mine too was probably Ballad also, as it was so whimsical and set the tone for the series. That said, they were all pretty good! The only one I found difficult to bare was Meal Ticket. The oratory was so annoying, although that was probably on purpose to help us feel the angst of the protagonist once the income dried up.

I thought they should have cut some of the repetitions in the script.
Best to last: 1. The Gal Who Got Rattled 2. The Ballad of Buster Scruggs 3. The Mortal Remains 4. Near Algonones 5. All Gold Canyon 6. Meal Ticket - I did not care for this episode at all.
Meal Ticket was not an original story. I've watched nearly the exact same story previously, a couple of times. I'm not sure where or what the name was, but I've seen "THAT" story before. I knew everything that was going to happen. I'm not sure if it was a Twilight Zone, Outer Limits, or some other production; but I am 100% positive that it isn't original.

Tough call, but probably the title segment; quintessential Coen comedy--and, come on, Tim Blake Nelson!
