Discuss Mr. Jealousy

I just saw this for the first time... I rated it higher than I did Baumbach's more serious Frances Ha, which I enjoyed watching about a year ago. For some reason, I didn't care about story structure and stuff like that while viewing this; I only cared about how effective the film felt to me. And this, a comedy, made me laugh, laugh, laugh. I actually feel that Noah Baumbach's strong suit probably is comedy. I need to see more of his films to try to ascertain this.

A quick note: I admire how Eric Stoltz, who played the lead character, executive produces the films that he acts in. He's done this more than once. It seems a great way to be sure to act in the types of films you want to be in--by helping fund them!

Given the steadily diminishing quality of most of the movies he's been acting in since he appeared on the scene back in the early 80s, Stoltz just might be wise to stop having a hand in the production side of the movies he's in

I thought executive producer = putting in $$$ though? Not so much creative decisions?
