This is a Shudder Original Shorts, but not a movie Original

This is true. Shudder released the film as a series in a handful of countries. But the film was screened in various film festivals and is now being released in French theaters.

Honestly I would keep it as a movie. It is listed as such on their website http://bloodmachines.com/ and was kickstarted as one. Guess the chapters were a convenient way to serve it in a modern format to streaming (it was just "licensed").
The "festival" version is the same as the streaming one and features the chapter cards, only difference is that they lack the shudder intro and credits after each episode.

(I wonder though how doing that would impact something like the Quibi "movies" as TV shows (if one of them ever happen to be screened somewhere ;)))

so what happens to these?

I think we're keeping the duplicate movie entry as an exception for now.
