Is this a murder/mystery? Social commentary? Black comedy? A period piece? Costume drama? Oh, it's all of that and more. So many interesting and relevant sub plots to enrich the experience. So many excellent performances. All of it done in Robert Altman's signature style of overlapping dialogue and continuous shot scenes. One of my absolutely favorite films.
