Discuter de Rambo: Last Blood

Frankly i would have rather had the girl live and then the bad guys go after Rambo. With Rambo saving the girl. But dies the process.

I get what you're saying, Nygma-0999 (you were saying the girl should've lived and Rambo should've died); I rather liked the film; considering our hypersensitive times, I thought it was even somewhat daring:

For me it was a better film for having the girl suffer and die. Otherwise the film would've been more cookie-cutter formulaic, "everything turned out okay." It seemed much more believable and realistic this way; Rambo is an old man now, after all, and he just wasn't able to get there fast enough to prevent her suffering and ultimate death. At least she did get to be temporarily reunited with her "uncle" before she died. I did like that.

And, in the end, there was plenty of violent, men-fighting-men (or should I say, men-fighting-man).

These types of movies have become increasingly uncommon over the last ten years or so-- especially when it comes to a wide cinematic release --and I think this trend of "de-masculine-izing" film will only continue, which I think is sad.

CAUTION! SPOILERS AHEAD!

The girl dying was the only surprise in the movie for me. (I fell asleep trying to watch it on three different occasions before that point in the film, I had assumed she would have survived. In fact, being snarky I said to myself, "What did she die of? Boredom?" laughing ). Anyway, once she died, I was hoping that the story would focus more on the issue of sex trafficking, with Rambo taking it to the enemy even harder in their own territory. I could then forgive the luring them back to his farm. Lastly, like you I would like to have seen Rambo die on the porch or something...I mean, it is called "Last Blood." Clearly this was Stone's swan-song for the series.

Finally watched this. Thought it was pretty poor in all honesty.

It's weird that even although Rambo and Rocky Balboa aren't exactly deep, complex characters, watching the old films (even up to the last Rambo) they did seem like Stallone playing distinct characters. Here he's just like the old man Rocky we've seen in the Creed films. Even down to having his sad tree...

Anyway pretty disappointing - should have just left it with the last one. I thought the realism of the violence in village attack in that one was something else. Here though the stuff in the tunnel was just cartoonish.
