Lorsque le vent aigre-doux recommence à souffler, les Whos se retirent chez eux parce qu'ils savent que le Grinch sera bientôt un rôdeur. Le jeune Eukariah Who doit faire un voyage à l'Euphemism (la dépendance), lorsque le vent l'emporte vers une confrontation avec l'horrible Grinch. Eukariah décide que le Grinch doit être arrêté, alors il affronte ses peurs et affronte le Grinch et ses fantômes.

When the sour-sweet wind starts blowing again, the Whos retreat to their homes because they know the Grinch will soon be a'prowlin. Young Eukariah Who has to make a trip to the Euphemism (outhouse), when the wind blows him away to a confrontation with the gruesome Grinch. Eukariah decides that the Grinch must be stopped, so he faces his fears and confronts the Grinch and his spooks.

The story takes place in and around Whoville, a town that The Grinch periodically hate and terrorizes the Whos on a night known as "Grinch Night", which commences when a "Sour-Sweet Wind" blows and sets off a variety of animal calls that annoys the Grinch into terrorizing the Whos. As the story opens, the Sour-Sweet Wind is just beginning to blow when Euchariah, a polite, bespectacled little Who with a slight astigmatism, goes to use the outhouse (referred to as "the euphemism" in the story), but is swept away to Mt. Crumpit by the wind.
