Discuss Dial M for Murder

Sure, it was remade as A Perfect Murder, which is different and decent in its own right; but this movie is still engaging, just as it is.

True! Also, it was shot in 3D. Had the pleasure to see it that way in cinema a year ago. The huge objects in front of the camera suddenly make sense. smile

How very true. Robert Cummings and Ray Milland are especially good in this, as they usually are very good in many a production. Plus John Williams and Anthony Dawson add a great deal of professionalism to this picture.

"Dial M for Murder" rates as a very good mystery because usually, you can pretty well guess which suspect is guilty, or at least narrow down the list, but here Hitch keeps developing the plot, and twisting evidence with more coils than the telephone line.

I must stand corrected - this film has been remade several times - 1981, and the 1998 version I mentioned above, as well as what appears to be a variant, 1970's Dial Love for Murder.

I have not yet seen either of these two, released previous to Michael Douglas and Gwyneth Paltrow's 1998 version. However, given the ratings of the 1981 version, odds are good it may be quite enjoyable.
