Discuss A Quiet Place Part II

Long awaited sequel and delayed almost a year because of Covid-007 and I'm the first to post about this movie? Where are the fans, the community, the excitement? Not as scary as the first and at least one or two good jump scares. Well done, not much plot and really good opening sequences.

Saw it at the drive-in. Near the beginning I got out of my car to help someone to turn off their running lights (on many cars that's very difficult if not impossible on some cars) and when I got back to my car, I fully missed what ever happened in the sky. I saw something burning so I can only assume these creatures came from some type of space ship, or they were on a big rock and landed in our atmosphere, or possibly an alien species declared war with planet earth and placed those creatures here to kill everyone.

Someone remarked that it was obvious there's going to be a sequel, but I don't see where else this story could go. I think they finally found the weaknesses of those creatures and now it's just a matter of time before they're destroyed.

I thought it might have to do with the number of members of TMDB.

I know absolutely nothing about this movie. But, for whatever it may be worth, I see already 112 TMDb site users have rated it, therefore presumably have viewed it.

Well then, I guess it's easier to click a rating button than to type out one's thoughts about it!

I'm glad this one grossed highly, and I do intend to see it ASAP. I loved, loved, loved A Quiet Place. I feel it has a great balance of elements for a horror film. The execution of the premise wherein this family has to stay so quiet that they must speak in sign language to each other is enjoyable. Also, I love Emily Blunt's acting. That scene where she, very pregnant, steps on a nail sticking up on her house's staircase and has to hold in her scream - regardless of how agonizing it is - contains a top-notch performance from her. Like I once read online, anyone who can convey the right amount of emotion with just their face, without saying anything at all, is onto something. I'm not surprised if this sequel hasn't got much plot; that's how these things tend to go.

Nice movie.

I didn't really enjoy the first one but this was really good. Cillian Murphy in particular. Will be interested to see where they'd take the 3rd one (if there is one)

Anyone else notice that it's on Amazon Prime with no extra fee? Not sure why anyone will see it in theaters...

Do you mean you're not sure why no one will NOT see it in theatres? I don't understand the no extra fee part but at least it's on Amazon Prime. Why should there be an extra fee for that movie?

Disney plus is charging an access fee to see Back Widow. For that matter, Amazon Prime charged extra for users to see the last Wonder Woman film. Surprising that they're not doing the same for this film...

I guess it depends what country you are in? Not the case in the UK, its not even available on Amazon.

My guess is the discussion on the movie will blow up once it hits DVD. This was just as good if not better than the first one. And I was super skeptical about them making a sequel to the first one.

Finally saw it. I rated it a 8/10 same as the first one. I hope they make a sequel since part 2 was a financial success .

Never heard of it until last week.

As good? neither one was good...

Went to the theater a few weeks ago to see the best option only five choices... oh, it was Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard... a just OK film but a thousand times better than either one of these lame attempts. Also, the ticket prices went up slightly since last year but the refreshments were about 40% than before. Those theater companies are insane. I'm not paying $16 for a medium coke & medium popcorn. That scam shouldn't be legal.
