On its last leg homeward, from Pearl Harbour (Hawaii) to San Diego, the USS Constellation hosts a jolly 'tiger cruise' for USNavy, Marines and USNAF relatives, mainly minors ('Navy brats'). Attitudes and emotions vary from simple joy to open frustration, the worst brat being XO commander Gary Dolan's daughter Maddie, who wants him to refuse a promotion to command for a shore job. Then the news of the WCC terror crisis changes everything, as the crew is recalled to war footing.

En septembre 2001, à Hawaii, l'équipage du porte-avions USS Constellation accueille à son bord de très nombreux passagers civils, dont Maddie, la fille d'un officier. Mais l’Histoire avec un grand H la rattrape bien vite quand deux avions s’écrasent contre les tours du World Trade Center et sonnent l’heure de la mobilisation générale...

Maddie Dolan, eine künstlerische Teenagerin aus San Diego, ist auf einer Mission, ihrem Vater Gary Dolan, einem US Navy-Commander (O-5) und Executive Officer der USS Constellation (CV-64) zu überzeugen, das er nach Hause kommt. Maddie Dolan, una adolescente artística de San Diego, está en una misión para convencer a su padre Gary Dolan, un comandante de la Armada de Estados Unidos, a renunciar a su carrera y llegar casa, donde pertenece. Como parte de su plan, Maddie acepta la oferta de su padre para participar en la Operación Tigre, un crucero de una semana para las familias militares y sus amigos a bordo de su portaaviones. Ella se encuentra con otros dos adolescentes de embarque del crucero Tigre, Tina y Anthony. Tina se siente fascinada por la vida militar y su hermana mayor es una aviadora naval al mando del comandante Dolan.
