Overview

道恩和皮特带着他们的四个孩子在巨大的无花果树下幸福地生活着。然而，皮特突然亡故，家庭中的每个人为了继续生活，以自己的方式做出反应。西蒙娜，8岁的小女儿，认为父亲暂时生活到树里去了。一天，她将自己的秘密告诉了道恩……渐渐的，道恩从丧夫之痛中恢复过来，找到一份工作，也许还找到了一个新的爱人。生活重新上轨，但树却变得有侵略性了：它的枝叶、根系，甚至它周围的青蛙、蝙蝠都向道恩的房子发起了攻击，房子的地基岌岌可危！道恩别无选择，她只能砍掉它……
