Discuss Happy Death Day 2U

Michael said it was more of a comedy than Horror but did follow up the first film well. You can see his review here.

The first one was also more of a comedy than horror. I just watched this one as well, it was just as good as the first movie. I loved it! 😍

Good to hear, its $5 day at my local Cobb cinema & I plan to watch this one tonight. I really like the first film (which was a haunted house at last year's Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando) & anticipate more of the same from this film (and maybe a house at HHN29 as well).

It was great. Saw it today. I laughed, I cried and I jumped. Its a mix of many genres and I enjoyed it

Saw it last night..I got mixed feelings. Although I was ENTERTAINED and found this movie to be SMARTER then the 1st (love me a good time traveling, Multi Verse story), that's just IT...I went in for a hororr slasher and got a time traveling/sci-fi/touchy feely family comedy..the slasher part was an afterthought.

Director has already announced plans for a 3rd movie...and IF it happens, it needs to be darker tonally.

I don't know if the movie needs to be darker, but I am ready for 10 more sequels!

I liked how it expanded on the first film and I was enjoying it up until the last 20 minutes or so when it just got ludicrous. I realise the silliness of these films is part of the fun but that sequence where she was pretending to be blind to steal the guys keys was like a scene out of Scary Movie 12. The first film got the right balance of tone all the way through.

AN EXCELLENT FOLLOW UP THAT BOTH EXPANDS ON AND CHALLENGES THE ORIGINAL.DISTINCTLY FEELS LIKE THE CENTER OF A TRILOGY.

Cool!
