Discuss Unfriended: Dark Web

Honestly, this script is obviously a standalone piece. Why associate it with a movie no one has ever heard of/seen?

Why go with such a clunky title??? It's like taking The Net with Sandra Bullock and calling it Sleepless in You've Got Mail Deus: Requiem.

It was put out by the same company and had the same narrative device of having the entire movie shown from the point-of-view of a computer screen. When originally greenlit, the movie was going to be written and directed by the same guy who did the first Unfriended, but even after replacing him, the sequel still kept the same style where all the characters interacted primarily via video chatting and instant messaging.

Just because some people may not have been aware of the first movie, I see no reason why the production company would disassociate this movie from the original. The are pretty much the same movie with the exception that the first one deals with a supernatural haunting while this one deals with criminal behavior.

So it's basically season one of Seaquest compared to season three of Seaquest. Or Friday the 13th Part I compared to JasonX: Jason in Space. Got it.

I saw the first one, which was bad, but at least it kind of had my attention. This one almost put me to sleep! At one point I even thought about walking all the way to the concession area (I saw this at a drive-in) just to help take up the time by going to the bathroom. Just as I was thinking that and hoping it would just end, it did...it just ended!
