Agreed. I think he went to artsy. Even if I think the acting was fantastic, it just didnt really hit with me. But I am looking forward to his new project, a bloody viking vengeance story.

I too was disappointed...having heard good things and seeing the ratings. I think I understand what they were aiming for as to period, but it was all so overt as to be itself distracting. Then adding in modern elements made it more of a confusing mess...further compounded by the unreliable narrator.
