I don't know where they got the number from, the version currently available is 125 minutes at (approximately) 24 fps according to all of these:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Early-Summer-Setsuko-Hara/dp/B019YIR092 gives 124 minutes, but that's in the minority for this admittedly brief survey.
So unless 10 minutes were cut or lost from the original Japanese theatrical version, 125 minutes appears to be correct.
