Why this film was given an 18+ / R rating (in USA / Russia / etc)? I have seen a lot of films really deserving such rating, but watching these 2.5 hours, I do not understand why it can't be shown to a 12-13-year-old «modern» teenager (some of them like real horror and thrash).

Probably, the ratings board had issues with old lady boobs.

It wasn't even really horror. The scene with the baseball kid may have been the reason for the rating, but as a whole, this was very tame, even the language wasn't too too extreme.
