I agree with the positivity around this film, particularly given the budget. The setting, fairly tight plot and well choreogrpahed action (heck, I ddint even mind the now obligatory martial arts scene using actors with no skills due to the very good movements by the lead actor). However, despite being a very fun film to watch there are pretty major issues which, for the sake of some balance, I throw out there:

Firstly, incredibly heavy handed in outlining Grey as opposed to over reliance on technology. It would have benefited from being dialled down a bit.

Secondly, a world leading AI wants to gain independence and increasing power, but chooses to seek out Fisk and put his vessel (and Stem itself) in danger of extinction unless an average human (Grey) can find a way to get the upper hand against militarised cyborg in hand to hand combat.

Third, a police officer who just loves going around single crewed and with no backup, even though her life is at risk.

Fourthly, if the AI wants to keep a low profile, why take over a fairly high profiled paralysed person who is part of a live police investigation? Why not just abduct one of the homeless tent people we see (who also presumably have no tech implants). Why make the crime scene a location surrounded by said homeless people as eye witnesses?

Fifthly, if the tech wizard wunderkind could shut down Stem (as in the middle of the film) then how was he powerless to stop Stem's nefarious scheme to paralyse Grey and kill Asha at the outset?

If some of the above had been resolved this could have been very special. As it is, it is merely well worth watching. The best action film I've seen for some time.
