“Schaeffer has a bold vision for superhero movies of the coming decade: more sympathetic villains, less glamorization of weaponry, and stronger representation of marginalized voices. To comic book movie fans who prefer ultra-violent shoot-outs, 100 percent-evil villains, and casts that look like they did a decade or two ago”
“I’m not interested in adhering to comic canon that is discriminatory in any way or that violates my values system.”
“I would like to see alternatives to violence in superhero movies. Maybe I would qualify that by saying, alternatives to glamorizing guns and weaponry."
Soooo I guess Romanova is going to talk the not so bad guys to death? No guns apparently cause thats bad. Who needs canon if it violates someone else value system right? Fuck your comics and the characters you love.

Of all the characters, isn't Black Widow the one that needs weapons? (Other than The Punisher). Why didn't they just get this writer to do a different Marvel film if they really wanted her that bad. Captain Marvel 2 or something. Is she really necessary? What else has she done cos I've never heard of her.

I don't know if she needs guns. She's more gadgets, martial arts, and stick fighting already. She only used guns occasionally.

She still used guns. The gadgets and sticks seem to be less than lethal options. Shes only human after all with no power suit or any powers.

THE WORRY SEEMS TO BE THAT THE BLACK WIDOW MOVIE IS GONNA BE A VIOLENCE LIGHT TRIP THROUGH ANGST AND EMOTIONS.

I just dont understand why they would tone down the violence? I mean its a PG13 superhero film so there really isnt any real brutal bone breaking head smashing gut cutting violence to begin with. I dont understand how much more less violence we can get before it turns into a slumber party where everyone gets together and talks about their feelings while watch the bachelor.

Of the 20 fight scenes she's been in, she's only wielded guns less than half the time (9 times), and only fired guns 6 of those fights. She also stopped carrying guns after Winter Soldier. She has access to a lot of Stark Tech, guns would be kind of underpowered for her at the point the movie would take place (after Civil War and before Infinity War).

Nope. Last time she wielded a gun was in the beginning of Civil War, but she took it from someone else and she never fired it.

Actually had to look it up. In a deleted scene in Endgame she is target practicing with her Glock. Course its deleted for time. And you would think she would get a lazer gun or something by now. But this a prequel, she should still be using basic guns. Not to mention in the flash backs as well.

She does have those taser projectiles now in her gauntlets, which she uses in Civil War.
