It is not going to happen anymore. That's too bad, I would have liked to know what happens after "Let the games begin.".
Now that Universal Studios have decided to make Tom Cruise the main character and hero of the "Monster" Universe starting with "The Mummy (2017)", there will probably be a reboot of Dracula.
Will Tom Cruise be fighting Dracula next? He was a vampire in "Interview with the Vampire (1994)", so he understands what it means to be one.

As of now, there probably won’t be any new Universal monster movie in the near future. All of them being box office disappointments, I estimate at least a decade until they are bold enough to try a reboot.

The suits at Universal are hopeless. First they ditch DU like some kind of unwanted pet, then put all their faith in TM 2017, only for it to come up real short. You have to wonder if they enjoy burning money/wasting people's time with projects.

Although I DO agree with ThisisMySwamp to a degree, I will say the BEST news we can get right now is the new Invisible Man will ditch the "A-List cast/$100+ million budget" route and go smaller in the hands of Blumhouse, Jason Blum & Leigh Whannell (Saw, Upgrade)..these guys know how to make a tidy profit on very low budget movies...such as the Paranormal Activity's, The Purge's & most recently, Happy Birthday to You movie series! And has anyone seen "Upgrade" by Leigh Whannell? Movie looks like it can hang with the big budget boys vs a $9 million budget!

100% agree. Upgrade did a better job at world building with its tiny budget than Ghost In the Shell did IMO. Leigh Whannell knows how to squeeze out every bit of money from a small budget and make it work.
