Discusión Los 3 del infierno

I thought House of 1000 Corpses had plenty of misgivings and misfires due to "rookie" director Rob Zombie learning the craft...but where he perfected the storytelling and direction with Devil's Rejects, he misses the mark BIG time with 3 From Hell!

Oddly enough, his direction is still quite good, the film looks grainy & gives it an almost 70s Grindhouse-vibe. Unfortunately, he just redoes scenes from DR (hotel scene, party scene) and it almost feels like 2 separate movies! Plus the lack of Captain Spaulding (due to failing health) was sorely missed. sob

I didn't enjoy it as much as Devil's Rejects especially without Sid but love the edition of Richard Brake. He just brings an entirely different element. I completely agree with you, it is its own story with a cheesy character tie in with Devil's Rejects. Could have removed the opening character tie in, had completely different characters and the movie would have had the same outcome. Thought it was strange they just all miraculously survived the end of Devil's rejects. I've only seen 3 From Hell once but I also didn't understand why Captain Spaulding was the only one on death row?? I still really enjoyed it for what it was as I do all of Rob's movies.

Agree completely. It felt off to me. Not the pacing or editing, I think that was fine. But just the over all feel of the film. I dont know if they had planned to have more Sid in it but had to cut out alot of it due to his health. But it just felt weird, like Zombie just wrote a bunch of scenes and put them all together into a some what cohesive film. Besides the Devils Rejects, I think The Lords of Salem is probably one of Zombies best films.

I can't knock Richard Blake! Especially considering he was brought in as part of the rewrites and took over most of the scenes meant for Haig! I thought he fit RIGHT IN to the Firefly family perfectly. Him being the main baddy in 31 definitely helped his case.

And yeah, the miraculous "survival"...Mmm...riiiiight.

I get the sneaking suspicion this was a quick cash grab. Considering how popular HOTC and TDR in their own right. Not sure why Spaulding was given a death sentence and executed while the other two got life. Maybe they all did die and were reborn but into the lives they always were born into? In eternity, where there is no time, nothing can grow. Nothing can become. Nothing can change. So death created time to grow the things it would kill. If time is a flat circle then they would just keep dying and reborn over and over, etc. Who knows? Lol.

Well, let's say it is clearly the worst ot the three, a bad sequel of the others and even the 'heroes' seemed tired of all this...

Spaulding was killed off because the actor, Sid Haig was sick in real life while filming. He died five days after this film was released.
