Discuss The Hole in the Ground

There is not one original thought in this rehashed derivative excuse for a movie. It's all been done before a thousand times. Why spend time and effort on something so completely predictable although money was no object because it didn't seem to spend any. The ending meant something I suppose - though what it was I have no clue. If you have ever seen a demonic possession movie before - then skip this one - because you will see it all over again.

The Hallow (2015) did it better.

I think I have this on my queue on Prime...Hmm...even if it doesn't bring anything new to the table and is a "rehash" of previous ideas..its ALL in the execution (perfect example, HATCHET, a jason-esque slasher that didn't invent anything new, but was still a fun ride!).

I'll eventually check it out anyway!

Hatchet was fun, especially the bayou beavers! And the cool open mouth kill in 360.

While I agree that this movie has been done before, I have to agree with jorgito2001 in that it is all in the execution. A lot of horror that is released these days are just rehashes of old ideas (or remakes, or reboots, or sequels, or spinoffs), so seeing something that is at least a new IP, even if similar to other movies that have been made, is still a refreshing thing. Also, while this movie was not something that will necessarily be one to make "Best Horror Movie" lists, it is still a solid little flick with decent acting and characters that we are able to care about. I think it is still worth a watch.
