Personally I loved it-- I'm a fan of Vin Diesel's insufferable smugness. The action was pretty satisfying overall to me, but I would understand if a lot of people hate it. It does take itself a little seriously at times but it isn't without humor, which saved it in the end.
Pitch Black and Riddick (2014) were his best performances in my book. However in this film, the Asian martial arts characters really save this film from being too insufferable. Donny Yen in particular gives a very strong performance.
