"Reuniting a father and his estranged son".
John McClane goes to Russia to save his son Jack from prison.
He hasn't seen or spoken with him for quite some time and he thinks Jack is involved with drugs or something worse.
There are a lot of fun things to do, like car chases, shooting up places and blowing up things.
They even get to go on a road trip (they missed the helicopter tour) to a (not too) popular tourist attraction: Chernobyl.
Everyone is evil, even the father and daughter whom they tried to rescue.
So they had to kill them all.
In the end, they finally reconcile as father and son, and agree that they had a really great time in mother Russia.
When they return home, demure, sweet, all-american girl Lucy awaits them at the airport.
(What happened to the spicy, spunky kid from "Live Free or Die Hard (2007)"?)
She runs towards her younger brother Jack and gives him a big hug.
Her father John looks on, smiling, a tear in his eye.
They're all laughing, joking around, happy to be together again.
They didn't bring back any souvenirs, there are no pictures of beautiful sites, no selfies, but there are good memories and a lot of fun stories to share.
Father and son are reunited, and all it took was spending some time together.
Not camping or a fishing trip, not the zoo, circus or an amusement park, but doing it the McClane Way.
A family again, living happily ever after, until the next Die Hard movie.
