Rented from Redbox an hour in just awful. Couldn't watch anymore. Worst sequel ever.
Could not agree more. They could have drained the charisma from every one of the lead actors and it would't have been enough to fill the reservoir on Will Smith's condom. (How's THAT for a crude metaphor?!) The effects were ridiculous and almost obscenely CG, with special recognition going to the absolutely insane tidal wave boat ride. (Even though he's alive, I'd have to assume that Judd Hirsch, after watching that sequence, dug his own grave and rolled around in it a few times just to make a point.)
I don't even think will Smith could have saved this. No storyline bad acting just everything about was awful. I didn't care about any of the characters. I could only take an hour of it was so bad. What happened?!?

I think I'm missing something important here, as I don't have first-hand experience about how much that is. Mind if I ask how you acquired that specific piece of knowledge?
No comment. What happens in Vegas...
Worst film I've seen in the past five years.
Obviously I'm not seeing this, but it got me curious. Have you not seen Interstellar?
I have and, even if I didn't care for it, it wasn't as empty as Resurgence was. I generally watch Nolan's films out of a general sense that they'll be well-made, but in general I don't find any of his movies (Batman, Interstellar, Inception, The Prestige, Memento) very memorable. In fact, I've watched each of his movies, with the exception of the first two Batman movies, exactly one time. But, unlike Resurgence, I've never wished I'd never seen them at all.
I'll still watch the original when it is on cable. This sequel was unneeded and uninspired. Everybody seemed to be mailing it in for the their paycheck, then queue the CGI. File it away with Grease 2, Dirty Dancing 2, etc.

It really was grade A garbage. Making Contact was more enjoyable than this crud.
