“They plan to make two sequels in the next four years, with a long-term commitment to Joaquin and his Joker director Todd Phillips and producer Bradley Cooper. It’s all about getting Joaquin to accept the terms – and the biggest payday of his career by far."
Joaquin lost lots of weight, and really put his body through a shock to play this role.
Who, exactly are you quoting?
Clearly there's great interest in sequels. One poster (under Star trek) floated the idea that he could be a proto-type,and implied that another disenfranchised young up and coming character could've become the actual Joker who rivals Batman.
It's an interesting idea.
Who could replicate the sheer elegance of Joaquin's dances though?
I have little use for sequels, but this, I could embrace.
It was made to have a sequel and I would think most of the fans of the film are expectant of a sequel. There are articles all over the interwebs about the sequel.
If they did a sequel, they could expand on very young Bruce Wayne's presence in this film - make more sense of it. And I do hope Joaquin is in the next movie. Too bad De Niro probably won't show up again - ha, ha ha!
I think it is more than a payday that motivates Joaquin.
Surely, a sequel (despite his capricious resistance to the initial process)
might finally get him the recognition of his peers.
He's long overdue.
But it will be his choice. He won't be manipulated by popular nor commercial demand.
