This is the film where they really established the World in which John Wick lives and it felt like a grounded version of assassin's creed with their mysticism and symbolism, in addition to the background story of the high table organization. It felt like the assassin creed games had a heavy influence on this film and felt like a grounded version of that franchise.

It does have similarities. You get certain vibes like when cutting off a finger. Though the Yakuza also seem to have a ritual like that.
