Diskuter Hellboy

If anything, this is an average movie, with a mediocre script. I think if they left Hellboy's back story ambiguous and not felt the need to explain everything, that would have helped. Instead, we got a backstory for everybody. I really don't think that there is going to be a sequel to this film.

A lot of behind the scene drama. Including producers trying to direct and also cutting the film they wanted instead of going with the directors cut. I heard it was basically two films smashed together.

DARE I SAY...WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE DIRECTOR'S CUT.

Just seen this movie, and boy it sucked ass - B.I.G. time!

  • they should've left this one alone..

Haven't seen it yet, but when I do expectations will be on the floor.

Its a shame, Director Neil Marshall is a talented filmmaker (Dog Soldiers, The Descent), but it looks like this one was completely taken out of his hands and had too many cooks in the kitchen.

Actually.. even though the Ron Perlman flicks had much, much better artistic vision - I actually think it was an entertaining flick. I haven't read the comics, so I don't know if Ron's take or the new guys is more comic-accurate, but both work in their own right. I was expecting to hate it, but I just can't.

If memory serves its Guillermo Del Toro's favorite comic book character & he passed on directing Blade 3 in favor of his "dream" project. I rewatched both recently and they are GREAT films (the 2nd one a little nuttier then the first, but still a great flick). A shame he never got to do the trilogy.

I agree. They're both great films in their own right.. and the mythos feels genuine.

Yeah because it was crap Hellboy meets Alice In Wonderland,King Arthur,Underworld and an early 2000 Resident Evil videogame.Too much blood and gore,a SyFy channel original movie FX'S.And is it necessaryto have an F... this and FF-in that in almost every sentence?A total waste of time and money .Who ever green lit this shit should have had the marrow sucked from his bones by the giants in this movie

This film is... interesting in that regard. It is simultaneously more AND less comic book accurate at the same time. A lot of the plot details are lifted straight out of the comics, and told with reasonable accuracy (I even like onwe or two of the minor changes that made to those details).

However, they took those details from three or four different comic arcs (and CLIMACTIC arcs at that, which is already an awful choice), and then cram them together sloppily to make one film, instead of the two or three they should have been. To make things worse, while plot details are accurate, the characterizations are absolutely horrendous. Names aside, those are NOT the characters from the comics.

It really was a hot mess.

This is an abomination! So bad.
