Discuss Eve's Bayou

The first thing I want to make clear here is, I have no beef with anyone involved in the making of this film.

That addressed, what do you guys think about that concept? Huh? I once heard a man who identified as “Creole” say he was neither black nor white. But do some believe they're better than black folks?

I’m Just saying, I’m sure that racist white people see this guy as basically a “mud person” and look down on him—so did he just decide to turn around and do the same to black people? Huh? Did he?

I only used this particular film as a “springboard“ to write about this topic because I think actress Jurnee Smollett identifies herself as a Creole… with her cute self

If she is using the term 'Creole' generically, yes. But her heritage is Ashkenazi Jew & African-American.

Ah, I didn't know that.

Thinking in hindsight, I suppose my question should be considered on a case-by-case basis....

There are many definitions of the word & I suppose at one time (or even now?) some Creoles might think that they were better.

Of course.
