I get this error anytime I try to add any info, for instance, the year of release. Totally useless.

You saw that the post you responded to is 4 month old and that the validation error is fixed probably by an user some time ago. The error occurs just if there was in the past a wrong entry and the validation system (established later) is just checking that to make sure the errors get fixed. If there is an validation error everybody is able to solve it because usually that are just minor issues that are to change.
