I mean it. After so many years of blowing 50 dollars to go see a movie, only to leave disappointed and annoyed, it was great to go into a theater and see a film being made by a creator who not only cared about the story he was telling, but the audience as well. There are too few of those these days.

Hmm, "merriment" might not be the right word, but "amusement" serves pretty well, and I agree. After my time in China, my own sense of humor is a lot...darker than it used to be. So is my alcoholism. I like a healthy dose of alcoholism to go with my trauma.

I liked the villain. The movie was of a lighter tone which I absolutely loved.
The second movie was just a more personal ride concerning Staarlord family. And the third movie was depressing some times.

A raccoon. A goddam raccoon. A raccoon!!! Wow, I am not at liberty to say how his backstory affected me, but what a ride. I found out the origin of the name Lila and all that.
Only… I couldn’t help but wonder why the filmmakers decided to make a black person the guy who committed the heinous act against RR. A black man — or a being who looked just like one. Worthwhile flick.

Be...cause that actor knocked it out of the fucking park? Gunn worked with him on Peacemaker so it fits in with him casting people he's worked with. Morgan Freeman has complained repeatedly that Hollywood refuses to let him play villains. I, for one, welcome seeing more well written black villains, just so long as they're not just typical thug/drug dealer/gang member villains. Wesley Snipes as Simon Phoenix in Demolition Man is one of my favorite movie villains ever.

It's like in movies and television shows. There are guidelines and content can get bleeped, muted, silenced, deleted, edited, or redubbed.
