Sylvie is a young cashier in a Montmartre café, "le bar des Philosophes", owned and run by Monsieur Marcel, a former safe cracker. One day, the pretty creature accepts to give a helping hand to two regulars, Francis and Josélito. But what the naive girl does not know is that the two men are gangsters and that they plan to steal 50 million francs deposited in the safe of Maître Roland Devert, a charming young notary. Actually things do not go according to plan all the more as a love story between the notary and Sylvie was not at all on the two gangsters' agenda.

Sylvie est une jeune caissière dans un café Montmartre, "le bar des Philosophes", détenu et géré par Monsieur Marcel, un ancien pirate sûr. Un jour, la jolie créature accepte de donner un coup de main à deux habitués, Francis et Josélito. Mais ce que la jeune fille naïve ne sait pas est que les deux hommes sont des gangsters et qu'ils ont l'intention de voler 50 millions de francs déposés dans le coffre-fort de Maître Roland Devert, un charmant jeune notaire. En fait, les choses ne vont pas selon le plan d'autant plus comme une histoire d'amour entre le notaire et Sylvie était pas du tout sur l'ordre du jour des deux gangsters.
