Discuss Dirty Dancing

To be released next month.

Dirty Dancing was the first movie I ever bought. I think a lot of people will watch it out of curiosity. I know I will. But to me nothing will fill the dancing shoes of Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey..

As a fan of the original, I'm already expecting this remake to suck. But I'll probably tune in when it airs.

My guess is it will be glossier, more PC, not as sweetly cheesy, and a bit of a disappointment.

Didn't we already get Havana Nights?

No, it wasn't a remake or even similar except for the cameo role of Patrick Swayze.

Hey, here it is, May 24th, and I just finished watching it. And I enjoyed it - it was surprising how many old songs they could jam into three hours of TV. (And how many advertisements they could jam in.) Now, I'm over 60, so I remember the original as being a memoir from before my time, so this one is a memory of a memoir. So I forgive the lip-sync, and the suspicious voices from old familiar actors. It's supposed to be fun! And it is.
